( I use it every day now, pretty much. )
Did you notice the buttons? No? Well, I got a whole bunch of neat ones. That I will show you.
( I hope you don't have koumpounophobia. )
I promised photos of Tanpopo's cage progress. It's gotten a bit further than this, but it's pretty much permanently stalled at the moment...
( I have not witty cut text for this. Really. )
And now for something completely different.
I have a DS lite. It was getting scratched up in my handbag (as seen above) so I made a case for it.
( This is vaguely a step-by-step... )
The next project I did was because the bags we get given (for free) at course are ugly and everyone knows what type of course you're doing because they have the school emblazoned on the front.
( Cut, because they really are ugly. As is the carpet. )
Cake. Sponge. Cream. Jam. Pink Lemonade. I haven't really taken any more pictures of things I've made. (That are on my laptop.)
( Those photos are a lie, but not this cake! )
And you know, I was going to use a fandom image for it, except I change fandoms far too often, so I just went with something simply.
Except along the way, I had to play with an image of Yuuko's seiyuu cosplaying as Yuuko and...
( these things happened )
BUTTERFLY ASS SPARKLES ARE A PHOTOMANIPULATION TERM, OK?
But yeah, fic banner for a fic that doesn't exist.
I want to do this. When I get an umbrella that isn't plastic. Isn't it the cutest?
Yay, something to do with the buttons in the button tin. Even though I don't have any really pretty shank buttons. (Unless kitties count.)
Not a specific tutorial link, but a blog's tag for 'dolls' and awesomely cheap ways to make clothing and accessories for dolls. (The dolls the posts are written for are American Girl style dolls, but dolls are dolls, right?)
And that is it.
ETA: Except this is a rather fascinating photo. You can see a fake tooth!
Also, 'x-ray kissing' sounds like the name of a band.
My feet are still recovering from this last week in the bistro at course. Spending four days in which 6-7 hours were spent on my feet has convinced me that I really do not want to do restaurant work.
Well, it’s been quite the epic making this fishy. Constant re-evaluations of technique and plenty of thoughts of ‘What I would do next time’, though I hope there won’t be. (But way up on the top of that list would be to do the painting with an airbrush. Blending acrylics on a non-flat surface KILLED me.)
So, this first batch of pictures was taken in October last year. Several areas are simply blocked in for blending and some were completed.
( When you see a cut, there is photos. Lots and lots of them )
These next ones were taken a couple of days later… I’d finished the blending on both sides of all the fins and was completing the last side’s blending.( Another cut... )
Then a couple month’s break and I’ve finished the blending and eyes and just left it there for a while.
After having a text conversation with shadowsinfire, I then changed my plan of painting scales on to just painting in Fishy’s stripes and adding the fin detail.
That’s what I completed two weeks ago. The below pictures are just copies of the ones I showed everyone, but this is an archive post…( A bit more numerous )
And then we have these photos, which are the fully completed and sealed ones of Fishy. They aren’t on a proper background and are only a few select photos, but still…
There’s nothing else for me to with it, aside from set up its display properly.
Strangely, the last one reminded me that for this week's Torchwood, near the end, when John said goodbye and scolded Capt. Jack, I spent a good while admiring shirt and waistcoat combination that Jack was wearing. Both the shirt and waistcoat were a nice shade of dark blue, enough so I almost didn't realise that there was a waistcoat, except the back was made of some shiny satin-like fabric and, after noticing that, I noticed the pocket watch chain hanging between buttons and pocket on the matte front.
(Despite watching Antiques Roadshow many times, I've never quite figured/remembered how they're supposed to be attached to one's clothing.)
I SHOULD retrieve fishy from my dad's office and finish it up and take plenty of photos. And decide what geeky thing I should make next. Aside from moar Tanpopo, Mokona and Mugetsu of course.
And damnit, all those geeky fathers and mothers make me want to have geeklets. It's all very well to use your crafting powers for
So, I got my shiny new camera about a month ago and I have been taking quite a few photos. None yet of the bush behind the house or just around but a lot of baking based stuff. Oh and the usual random stuff.
But this is baking post. So is filled with yummy.
First is chocolate cake.( This cake is NOT a lie )
Now, cookies. These are explicitly for you princesspikeru, cute little sugar cookies made with a cookie press.( With cute little demarara sprinkles as well. )
So, I hope I didn't make you too hungry there.
So I’m going to ask you lot whether I should stop at this point.
Sorry I don’t have better, non-glary pictures but YOU CANS SEE FISHY NAO?( FISHY! aka Borghal Rantipole )
That last one? That was so you could kind of see the interference paint I used for the blue bits. Trying to decide too if I want to do more sparkles like that and whether I can cheap it with gold!sparkles from watered down gold paint or if I should go get some gold/yellow interference paint.
( first is my new glasses! )
( Tanpopo progress! )
No piccys of fishy, as I haven't done much more to him.
I have however, completed another machine-felted scarf in pretty orange/red colours. No pics this time though...
( CAKE! )
( And a bonus doodle )
( On crossovers and Doctors )
( A brief cameraphone interlude )
( FOOD! (Includes more chiffon cake and lots of reasonably large pictures) )
Uh... completely random, but would people appreciate it if I shared the wheat and/or dairy and/or egg free recipes/versions I have of some of these recipes? (I have a really yummy milk-less milk shake recipe involving that seasame cake that I've forgotten the name of.) They're two ice cream recipes (which taste good) and a couple of other recipes which are some variant of free.
I need to make some roulades... they look fun.
( Sushi! )
( The first chiffon cake )
( The second (has icing) )
I also baked some muffins and pie, but I'll take photos of them another time.
This is for Rhi, who I am kinda making a Delirium fishy for. I have a wire armature in place, as well as fin-wires under the two sheets which form the hollow body.
I still have the body to build up, the fins, gradation and everything else. I am considering pressing some net into the fishy before it goes into the oven for a final bake on the body to give it scales.
Um... and it's hollow.
PICTURES!( Fishy pictures! )
