So, I got my shiny new camera about a month ago and I have been taking quite a few photos. None yet of the bush behind the house or just around but a lot of baking based stuff. Oh and the usual random stuff.

But this is baking post. So is filled with yummy.

First is chocolate cake.

This is what the batter looks like. And you just know it’s going to be a good cake.

 

Yeah, please ignore the fugly table cloth. It looks yummy, doesn’t it though?
It’s a cream cheese based cake, so it’s nice and moist and, when it’s filled, is very yummy indeed. The icing was some kind of buttercream/cream cheese icing which I totally made by chucking in some ingredients together. (Icing is not as much a science as baking the cake. The icing just needs to be about the right consistency/taste while cake is a delicate balance of stuff.)

Anyway, the end result is THIS:

 

I kind of want to make this again. Except maybe not in chocolate. You need to have teeny tiny slices for this not to be too much. But yes, it was good cake.

Now, cookies. These are explicitly for you princesspikeru, cute little sugar cookies made with a cookie press.
