I haven't read any of her other series aside from this one, Joust and the 500 Kingdoms. It may just be bias because of DRAGONS, but the Joust series almost seemed to avoid that. Almost because I can't really remember any book clearly except for Aerie, the last one and I know that one ended abruptly after the climax but was told in first person past tense so everything didn't need to be tied up in an epilogue. Which is something. I just generally treat her as junk food reading and try not to take her too seriously.
