grassangelUm, so, episode 12. Nothing much to say about it except 'Yay! We get to find out about their pasts!'
Well that and apparently Torchwood's history of non-heteronormative sexual orientation dates back to its founding with lesbian Victorian ladies!
(Interesting fact which I read ages and ages ago and thus may not be true: Queen Victoria didn't like gay men, didn't like them to the point that it was illegal to be so, but couldn't quite get her head around why women would be interested in each other and so excluded them from that law.)
Oh and Tosh's story was so sad. (Though where in the hell is her dad and this younger brother she has?) Except time lapses of prison cells are so over-rated. As are the unimaginative poses during the time lapses.
But but but, that sonic modulator. While she was building it, I was thinking she was building a sonic screwdriver/tube-thingy of choice. And it did turn out to be sonic something and maybe if she was given the right materials and plans she could?
Ianto's coat obsession amused me. And Myfanwy SHOULD have landed on both of them.
There was also a moment of 'AHA!'-ness with Owen and that's why he's so miserable and gets worked up about people leaving him.
Also, hooray for Rhys! That makes three times he's helped out now. Give him clearance Jack, give him clearance~
My mum had questions by the end of the episode, but I hushed her because we weren't all the way through the preview and then she forgot what they were.
The 'Hey look! A distraction!' technique WORKS.
Now, lets see if Black orchid makes good bedtime reading.
