Sorry, sorry and I apologise for the flood of stuff. (And anyway, this is shorter and more reviewy. I'll try and keep it non-spoilery as well.)

Once Bitten, Twice Shy by Jennifer Rardin

Yes, as the (horrible) title should tell you, it's a vampire story.
I've read the Darren Shan saga, Nightworld series (L.J. Smith), the Twilight series, Vamped (by someone whose name I can't even pronounce), a couple of Buffy novelisations (plus a smattering of episodes) and Peeps (Scott Westerfield).
I'm not sure if it's because any vampire story that isn't utterly serious or horrifying ends up being slightly silly and OTT but this is definitely silly and a bit OTT in places.

But anyway, this book is more serious than sappy and has some fun moments where the vampire actually has a sense of humour. (At least one of the jokes is lewd too!)

There's Jaz, the very temperamental assassin who has a heap of troubles... )

So er, recommended if you don't mind vampire stories, don't mind goop and like action and giggling out loud.
