[13][Original] Hopeless; Winds
Feb. 14th, 2007 11:26 pmTitle: Hopeless; Winds
Theme: 13, 'the human race is a non-stop race'
Series: Original (Winds series)
Character/Pairing: The wind
Rating: G
Note: Part of my 'Winds' series, a set of totally unrelated short 'bits' that personify wind. Absolutely no prior reading is required, just be careful of things, they may seem human.
It's fun, this never ending contest, to see who can run faster. To see who can beat the other and win this game of who is the fastest, who is the best and who will never stop.
I run and I giggle as I race along, my pace fast as I dodge over trees and cars, mountains and rivers. They shake and quiver, interrupted in my wake, leaves rustling and rocks rattling.
I go, as fast as I can, as fast as I can whip arounds corners and sprint across plains, valleys and causeways.
Yet, as I circle the world, air whistling behind me as I bid it farewell, I know I am loosing.
For the wind cannot outrace the human race, no matter how fast it runs.
