Title: Flames in darkness

Day/Theme: May 2: one by one the nights will fall
Series: Original (abstract)
Characters/Pairing: None, just some candles
Rating: PG?

Notes: This is kind of dedicated to

[profile] shadowsinfire, and it should kind of be obvious.

Straight and tall they stand, twelve candles alight. Their flames unwavering, no hidden breath of air to sway them, no damp to cow their flames.
They stand, light in the darkness.

The darkness is strange, the candles' light illuminating nothing, not even lifting black to half grey. Their steady radiance shines, soothing in their undulating rhythms cast upon umbra.
Constantly they burn, a sense of calm descending as stasis continues and the candles continue to stand, shedding light only upon themselves.

Suddenly, a candle is snuffed out, its flame extinguished. It blinks out of existance, light vanishing and leaving only eleven pillars of light steadily burning.

Only another one is snuffed out soon after, and then again and again. They go out, one after the other, darkness overwhelming the row as they go silently and quickly.

Then there's only one left. One candle left burning brightly as it had been in the beginning. One shining pillar, its flame strong and radiant, unflickering, its simply sway the only indication time is moving forward.
A single candle, alight.

And then it's gone, light replaced with darkness.

I'm awesome because I name dropped you? Or because I dedicated this piece to you? Or is it because of the content of the piece?

Because I can always do more of the first two.
Though [livejournal.com profile] dawnduskdancer will probably get one whenever there's a theme/piece of writing that is very her.

You're much easier though.

Uh, all three? Especially last two.

And how am I much easier?

Well, I can do that middle one but the last... Eh, I know there are more prompts I could write to and more drabble ideas that would make you pleased but yeah... No assurances.

And you're much easier to please because you've got wide tastes.
That and you like the weird abstract stuff like this.
