NO MUM, YOU ARE NOT TO BECOME A BJD FAN

My mum was walking by and popped into my room to say goodnight... and I had a BJD page up because while I have no intention of ever getting one (I like my plushies thank you very much) I do appreciate the pretties.
My mum appreciates the pretties too, and so she was going all 'oooh' over it.
Then she asks how much it is. I tell her it's expensive, but I don't know how expensive, just that people moan about it.
She asks again and I dutifully scroll to the prices. $765 US
She says that someday she'll have enough money to get one and pops back out.
Pops back in five seconds later to tell me she's just placed an order for seven paperweights for about the same price.
Mom, I don't want you to become a BJD fan. Even if it is for the pretties.
(There are several gorgeous custom doll makers living in Wellington, get something from them for only $500 NZ.)
