ETA: Also, because a friendspost reminded me of this, the National government of New Zealand is planning on abolishing trial by jury for all but the most important cases. My reaction to this is a violent NO. Trial by jury means we don't get corrupt judges. Trial by jury means that a judgement is reached by a consensus of OTHER citizens and not just one person who may or may not have an agenda.
If they want people to get out of jury service, just put in more loopholes. (Most juries are already skewed anyway, so I don't see much point in this. It's rare for a person to be called to jury duty more than once in five years.)

Their reasoning is because it's too much bureaucracy to have juries for every trial. And something else to do with lawyers and how we have too many or something.
I didn't pay too much attention. I just heard the statement "Getting rid of trial by jury except for the most serious of cases" and started flailing and shouting NO.

I kind of want to as well. Although you can be rejected if you don't look trustworthy. My dad was called up recently but was rejected because someone didn't like the look of him.

Yeah the whole jury thing is one big WHAT NO.

And I think Yuuko is more of a mother figure for Watanuki... or at least, that's how I view it and why it as a pairing is a no what for me.

Otherwise it's something that's had a great amount of weight put on it, but nothing to drop it on.

I think Yuuko mostly teases, both out of boredom and to get him to adjust to the fact that people like him enough to sacrifice something for him. (As I'm typing this, I'm thinkin "oh god, he's like Felix and Mildmay when it comes to love".) She has tapered off her teasing now that he's friends with Doumeki, Himawari and Kohane.
And I believe Watanuki sees her entirely as a mentor/parental figure.

I can handle teasing gone too far but anything else is squicky for me. Teasing gone too far doesn't even work past the first eight or so volumes anyway. The notions of the mentor/apprentice relationship become too strong after that.
