grassangel: a pastel and cute cat balancing a multi-coloured ball on its head (Rukia - Sode no Shirayuki)

Me again. I have been entry happy recently with nothing of much content, haven't I? Must post -final battle- sometime.
And if someone else would like to beta the edited versions of two of my IshiHime fic entries (I don't beta-beta most of my work before posting it here, especially if it's something completed on the fly) and two Clow/Yuuko fics, feel free to ask for my Gmail address. Unless you already know it. Which about half of my flist already does.
*glares at Rhiannon*

Anyway onwards!

Chevalier D'eon
It's a good enough series that if a cheap box set appears, I will consider getting it. By cheap, I mean it's not going to cost me near $200.
I have to say, the ending does leave me wanting to search out fanfiction for it. LIA DID NOT ASCEND TO HEAVEN WHEN MAXIMILLIAN PEGASUS ROBEISPIERRE DIED.
I was irritated that it seemed she had stayed on in Deon's body, despite everyone else except for Robin and the poet dying.

So that's irritating. However, everything else was pretty spiffy. Like the story being revealed and the plot twists and the cross dressing and double crossing and fun stuff like how Durand was Lia's lover but then Maximillian proposed to her and what with Deon looking like Lia for most of the second half of the series, serious WTH are their thoughts on the matter.

Everyone dies though. Which is not a good thing.

 Hogfather.
We both agreed it was good enough to get on DVD (which I just sent him a link to where he could find it) so we think it's pretty spiff, though not as spiff as it could be. Death might've been better with more reverb on his voice and maybe not such a sepia toned skull. Oh and extra glowy eyes.
Teatime was FREAKY though and still reminds me that Teatime and Ulquiorra might just get along. Maybe. Possibly just the book version.
Susan was perfect though. Absolutely perfect.
Ending seemed a bit... over dramatic for me, but then I can't exactly remember the ending of the book so yeah...
Apparently Terry Pratchett had a cameo role as the toy store owner. ^___^

Legal Drug
Okay, I'm going to do this one a bit differently than my other review thingys.
First, I shall comment on the character design and art style.

Like how Kakei and Kazahaya look uke, but their personalities are far, far from it. Which I have to say is quite fun, especially how in parts of Legal Drug it's very heavy with the gay supertext. I do find it fun when the shorter, longer haired more effeminate character is so obviously a top.
Also, it's quite nice how CLAMP have kind of reverted to a more shoujo style. It makes for more bish moments.
However, I think it also means they're recycling the 'mysterious woman' machina. Only it isn't so obvious as Kazahaya and Rikuo are absolutely hillarious together and while Kakei and Saiga are actually kind of creepy with their affections, they're kinda distracting too.
Oooh, and am I ever glad to have read series like Ghost Hunt and the Gina Champion mysteries, because I can put a name to most of their powers. Or at least accurately describe it. I wonder if Saiga has a power as well...

Story telling does remind me a bit of xxxHOLiC though... and I think there's at least a couple more volumes to go for this story whenever CLAMP pick it up again...
Sad thing is, I might actually go out and buy the translated volumes when they do that. Or at least two and three. Because those were particularly cracky.

Pure random: In Japan, the Kit Kat is popular as a chocolate bar and comes in 'weird' flavours. I only say 'weird' because I actually would like to try an apple flavoured Kit Kat.
And they apparently also have red bean flavoured ones... which may or may not be available from vending machines. *has a horribly roly-poly Orihime idea in her head*

Also, cross cousins and parallel cousins make my head spin. As does Consanguinity.

I heard that Legal Drug is supposed to be 15 volumes long. So lots more yummy subtext still to come...
Sadly, most fanfic writers seem to write Kazahaya as uke. HOW CAN THEY NOT SEE THE AWESOMENESS OF SEME!KAZAHAYA?
I have heard theories that Saiga can find locations...
And you know that vase from volume 2? IT APPEARS IN XXXHOLIC LATER. KAKEI AND YUUKO MUST BE WORKING TOGETHER.

Yes, this is what CLAMP does to me

But if Saiga is seme - why can't that make Ishida seme!?! They both sew...
Although it would be awesome if both Ishida and Kazahaya were seme!

Hmm... we've got psychometry, telekinesis, premonition and varying degrees of seeing spirits. Finding locations would be a good one, but so would empathy, telepathy or any other kind of pyschic power.

*nods* Yes, I noticed the vase was the same and I don't doubt that Yuuko and Kakei haven't contact with each other. (After all a WITCH AND A SHORT RANGE FORTUNE TELLER?)

By the way, why do you find Kakei and Saiga's affections creepy? I think Clow and Yuuko would be knid of similar...

It's because they tend to involve other people in them. It's one thing when they're snuggling together, but a totally different one when one of them teases Kazahaya and then goes to talk about while they snuggle. It's like being in a threesome against your will.
It's the same reason why I found a scene in Eclipse disturbing.
